VP 920P

Synthetic Coolant for Ferrous Metal & Steel Machining

In some instances, machinists and operators prefer to use synthetic coolants in their application. The main reason for using synthetics is superior sump life, better visibility with a clear running fluid, less lubricity on machining tables, and no atomization of oil.  VP 920P has selected raw materials that make this synthetic coolant most suitable for ferrous metal machining and the machining and grinding of steel alloys. The product has been found to displace and outperform numerous competitive grinding fluids from major oil companies' whose products are often thought of as industry standards.

Applications & Usage

VP-920P is a synthetic metal removal fluid concentrate meant to be extended in water.

  • A starting concentration of 3.0% - 8.0% is recommended for most metal removal
operations. Optimal concentrations may vary depending on the particular alloy.
  • Always add VP-920P to water. To reduce use and optimize performance, it is best to
pre-mix with water prior to filling the fluid system or adding make-up.
  • A calibrated refractometer should be used to determine the fluid concentration. To
determine the concentration, use the following formula: Concentration (%) = %Brix
(Refractive Index) x 3.6 (RI Multiplier)

VP-920P is engineered to perform well on difficult multi-point metal removal operations such as: milling, turning, drilling, reaming, boring, sawing, and grinding.

Metal Compatibility*: Steel, Cast Iron, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Inconel, Aluminum, Copper, Brass

*Fluid compatibility and machinability should always be tested first; as fluid concentration, metal alloy, and machining operation are variable.
